New Heights inspires promising inner city youth to be leaders, champions and student-athletes and empowers them to succeed in high school, college and life. The organization uses basketball as the “hook” to engage youth in education and uses the basketball court as the classroom where leadership and life skills are developed. Founded in 2000, New Heights currently fields 15 teams including boys and girls programs that compete in grassroots events both locally and nationally exposing participants to new people, places and experiences. New Heights is an adidas sponsored grassroots programs servicing young people from all over NYC as well as Northern New Jersey and the Westchester area. Kimani Young oversees all athletic programs at New Heights and is the Head Coach of the New Heights 2010 team.
