Founded: 1989
Connecticut Select was founded in 1989 with a 17 and under team that first competed against state teams a few years later. In 1991, the team's first tournament in Las Vegas, Travis Best led Connecticut Select to the final four. In 2004, Ryan Gomes led the team to finish 3rd in the nation and in 2007, the 16 & under team won Connecticut Select’s first ever National AAU championship with an 83-80 win over Carmelo Anthony’s Team Melo/Mt. Royal team.
